New production of „Die Katze, die ihre eigenen Wege ging“
Premiered at Landestheater Linz/Austria in 2021, the family opera by Mike Svoboda (music) and Anne-May Krüger (libretto) will see a second staging at Bayrische Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich/Germany this July. Click for more information and tickets.
Opera premiere: Adam und Eva at Schwetzinger Festspiele 2025
Time flies: the next edition of the Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele will already see the world premiere of Adam und Eva by Mike Svoboda (music) and Anne-May Krüger (libretto). Co-produced by the Landestheater Linz/Austria, the piece will be staged by Andrea Moses and conducted by the composer. Click for more information.
New opera project: Die Schwarze Spinne
Anne-May will be featured both as librettist and lead singer in a new production of Heinrich Sutermeister's Die schwarze Spinne (1936). The re-working of Sutermeister's radio opera is part of the SNF-funded research project Code Word 'Black Spider”: Swiss Music Theater as a Resource for the Construction of Collective Identity of Hochschule der Künste Bern and Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn, starting in fall 2024. The premiere is scheduled for May 2026. More information to follow.
